Some years ago the Federal and State Governments put in place two initiatives to both promote the
building industry and increase the level of home ownership.
The two schemes are:
The First Home Owners Grant Scheme (FHOGS). Persons who qualify under this scheme are
entitled to a one-off grant of $7,000.00 to assist in purchasing their first home.
The First Home Plus Scheme (FHPLUS). Persons who qualify under this scheme are entitled
to have the stamp duty on their first home purchase waived.
Both schemes are administered through the NSW Office of State Revenue (OSR).
Conditions apply for eligibility for both of these schemes.
